The world's largest platinum producer has great luck with the rand and the platinum price to thank for its achievement. A R20bn expansion programme offers much promise of future growth, provided new CEO Ralph Havenstein can keep to the production schedule. Parent Anglo American now owns 70% of the company, and has been slowly buying up shares for some time. Most believe it's just a matter of time before Anglo takes out AngloPlat completely; it has already become difficult to trade. Though the bears have been creeping away from resources, AngloPlat has held its share price better than most.
